Meeting with Selena - LO
After my meeting with my friend Selena, I was inspired to create a LO to "rub in" the moments we spent together. The title "Dal vivo" means "live", in the journaling I wrote "I woke up at 3 am to meet you and I took 6 trains just to reach you, I'd have done it only for you and I'm happy because it's been worth the while. Thanks for this wonderful friendship and for a day which I hope to repeat soon. I love you, Desi". I wrote the journaling onto a "pocket" used to put the train tickets, a bill and a paper with the visited villages (written by my friend). In the left bar there're some small photos of the visited villages.

GET IT!
We popped into the Shack for a drink on Saturday and sat outside in the little courtyard section. One of the doors that used to lead to a lounge area swung open to reveal a wall of GINZING ads from the 1990's! This room is now being used as storage but I managed to take this quick snap before they came and locked it up again. I remember that stage when we were all at raves and beer was crap and sweet energy drinks with water were about all you could handle in a night. Note the trendy skew type, the clever play on words (ZING!) and luscious neon colour. The taste was like a Smirnoff MULE (remember THOSE) - mix of Gingerale and vodka. This one had ginseng added to Gin ('GIN' 'ZING' lol) - for all the bunnies that needed the "energy". Most of these drinks came in for a year or two then fizzled out again. I think they discontinued the Mules in 1998. Oh the times we had. More at Forgotten Pubs & Clubs mor

Brickbeard's Last Stand
After years of terrorizing sailors and villagers along the Atlantic Coast, Brickbeard's ship was sunk off the coast of New Orleans by Admiral Jackson. The year was 1753. Unfortunately for Brickbeard, he was captured, while his crew all swam to safety. Understandably the people of New Orleans were anxious to put an end to this infamous Pirates reign of terror. They had gathered outside the court house to see that justice was served. Frankly, things didn't look good for Brickbeard. Foremost on his mind was, where had his faithful crew gone? Surely they could be counted on to come to his aid in this most dire hour.

The show will be opening May 25th 2010 and will run through the end of August. The ducks were copied from SlyOwl and the trees were based on a design by Brickshelf user fifi. I hope you enjoy it.
